My friend Paul started a blog a few months before I did called Paul Sees the World. We worked together when I was living in Philadelphia about 5-6 years ago and I have to say, he’s one of the funniest people I know. He’s always had a passion for traveling…and cats….and food, which is the focus of his blog. Naturally, I signed up for his newsletter so I could keep up with him and his adventures.
A few weeks ago, this post title caught my eye…“A Scorpion In My Lollipop”. I had to read it….I mean, how couldn’t you? Lots of interesting tidbits in that post about Hotlix Scorpion Suckers…and Bon Appetit magazine, views on millennial sales associate’s customer service skills, scientific terms and the Kama Sutra. You should check it out – it’s quite informative.
I showed the photos of the scorpion suckers to my 5 1/2 year old son and he said…”I want one of those mom”. Well, of course he does!
So, I reached out to Paul to see if he wouldn’t mind picking one up for him and dropping it in the mail. Paul replied, “I put a scorpion and worm sucker in the package, and a little “treat” for you and your husband”. Uh oh…”treat” for me and my husband…that statement was a little frightening. Just because Paul is a jokester. Who knows what he’d put in there for shock value.
The “treat” was a box of bacon and cheese crickets. Ick. Ironically, that was the first thing my husband and son ate – and they finished the ENTIRE box in 2 hours. My son won’t eat brown rice, but he’ll eat a box of bacon and cheese crickets. Go figure.
A little bit of fun for this long, holiday weekend – thanks, Paul!
